DEBORAH
lyrics by Unknown
vocals by Jon Anderson
music by Vangelis
I read your letter, I got it just the other day...
You seem so happy, so funny...how time melts away
It's such a pleasure, to see you growing
And how you sending your love to the air today
I think of Heaven...each time I see you walking there
And as you're walking, I think of children everywhere
It's in your star sign...you growing stronger
I can't believe you...so good to care
Thru enchantment, into sunlight
Angel's touch...your eyes...
Your highness...electric...so surprise
Is this your first life...?It seems as though you have live before
You help me hold on...You have a heart like an open door
You sing so sweetly...my love adores you
She does, she's thinking of you right now
I know...
The summer's coming...I'll keep in touch so you're not alone
Then like the swallow, you'll fly away like birds have flown
So let me tell you...how much I Love You
I'd make the songbirds sing... for you again...
Well now it's goodnight...
Sweet Angel...read this letter...
Well...
* children, though fragile yet heart-warming. we were too, once.

TURN IT ON !! Yes, turn it on again. Unlike what the Scottish always says: The tilt on your kilt depends on when you were built. Sorry, Lad, it does not apply on this particular case. Been listening to the same old songs for so many hundred times in the last 20 years or more, and the songs still turn some people on. This week has been the reinforcement of RUSH and Genesis music to some of us. Awesome music. Just watch how 2112 brought on the wild out of each person in the crowd, or how The Pass could tantrically brought the crowd to an ecstassy level of trance. Awesome it was, Rush in Rio. As many of us are not getting any closer to anyone's heart at time being, listen to what Genesis has to say: All I need is a TV show, that and a radio...turn it on, turn it on again... Boy, aren't we all Tom Sawyers ?

I Today, this very morning, I received the best present ever: TASCAM POCKETSTUDIO 5. It's a pocket size-4 track recorder, arranger as well as encoder for MP3. Still reading the manual, and might take several days utk properly mengerti dan bisa ngerekam own track. Exciting like hell..

I was listening to Anger As Beauty by Hawksley Workman when I realized that Workman, painfully, sounded like U2. I moved to the next track, and after a while, it reminded me of Coldplay. Or John Mayer ? May be Oasis ? Hey, hallo, smell the coffee, lad ! It is no longer about creativity and identity these days, forget about music; it is about being on MTV, fame, hairdo, and all that. Play something that sounds like somebody else's song, keep the chords in C-Am-F-G, look as sick as possible, sound as horrible as you could, don't forget to act strange before the cameras, and you'll be famous in no time.
But maybe that is just what this aging world needs. Yes, heal the world with your sad songs. Tell us more about your screwed-up life. Remind us again of how much you love your woman, and how sick and suicidal you would be when she is not around.
Write more karaoke-sing along songs, hopefully all the warring generals and their soldiers will lay down their weapons-of-mass-destructions, start grabbing the microphones instead, let them sing your newest song : "I am a Lover, not a Fighter" and the whole world will be in Peace.
Wake me dead.

Well, nothing much. Bahkan hampir ngga ada yg berarti. Wait a second, ada LZ lagi bawain Your Time Is Gonna Come. Well, ini judul lagu threatening sekali ya...Ahhh, here comes my old time favorite Penny Lane. Somebody baru saja mengulas Beatles, dan memang, sudah saatnya mencari2 pusaka lama. Satu hal mengenai Ringo adl dia tidak menonjol, tapi menentukan. Dan cukup konseptual. Ngga asal gebuk. Seseorang juga mengutip Be Still My Beating Heart, the other day. Whatever happens to rock 'n roll. Kemana aja si Angus Young selama ini ? Apa udah pake celana panjang ya ? Sori, ini kok jadi Trampled Foot ya. I am not a bootlegger, tapi ini emang membuat pendengar paling clean pun jadi haus dan mulai memesan soft drink. Bass drumnya sakit. Gitarnya casual rhythm. Koka kola satu lagi, Mas...I just Couldn't Stand The Weather, Stevie Ray Vaughan...
Dengar Bruce Cockburn ? Nah, ini Pacing The Page, trek yg sulit di tiru, bukan karena tricky, justru karena being simple guitar playing tapi emotional, seperti nginjak una corda pedal kalo rhythm utk blue notes, atau 3/4 hi-hat dan snare utk 1/8 beat. Atau seperti intro nya Caught In The Web, drumnya sakit gitu. Talking about Dream Theatre, the other day someone went to guitar shop looking for DiMarzio pick up (I bet he plays Ibanez), and met ex Kansas guitar guy. Memang Dream Theatre banyak ambil influence dari mana aja, tapi Kansas kayanya kental banget.
Dulu, pas lagi bosan2nya dengan traditional band seperti Genesis (too much Collins), Yes (komersialisasi oleh Trevor), Rush (somehow jadi garing), dan sekitarnya, nongol lah Marillion di toko2 kaset di Blok M dan Sabang. Waktu itu taun 86an. First, the logo was attractive, kedua, Fish suaranya Gabriel abis. Ketiga, the whole music, though heavily influenced sama kedua band di atas (minus Rush) kaya angin segar aja. Ingat Garden Party ? Lavender, dg intro kaya changes, gitar kaya Hackett. Punch and Judy. A lot more. Ngga lama, nongol pula ini Dream Theatre. Dengan influence yg ngga jauh beda, cuma ada sedikit Rush nya, dan Kansas. Heavy rocking too. Drumnya emang lebih agresip.
Question: where did you put Duran Duran at that time ? In the drawer ? Ngga juga. Despite the fact that DD was labeled as 'perempuan sekali musiknya', ada trek yg asli bagus: Rio, Reflex, Save A Prayer (nice intro, nice string portamento, beautiful chord) to name from many.

Quote on love:
"Loving someone no matter what their faults in a blind and unconditional way, such as the love Tony Blair has for George W. Bush...that is the purest form of love today"

2004 began with some good flights on green; 4 Pars, and 2 Unders for a 9-hole were not bad at all ! Dan untuk melengkapi, sudah di siapkan beberapa tracks yg akan menambah keindahan hari ini (20' Celcius, clear sky) Think cold drinks, tempat duduk yg kaki bisa di selonjor kan, think Club Sandwich, hawaiian shirt and beige shorts, moccasin shoes, sunglasses, swimming pool, and forget the spy-novel, just think the victorious swings of this morning, while listening to:
1. When It's Sleepy Time Down South; Armstrong. Cool jazz. Very very cool.
2. Love Man; Sarah Vaughan. Coke on the rock, please...
3. Love is Here to Stay; Edison. Pianonya bikin euphoria.
4. Christopher and Alice; Akira Jimbo.
5. Blame It On My Youth; Kurt Elling.
6. Way Down Yonder in New Orleans; Payton. Aha...
Well, it is really getting very sleepy here down south....time for siesta...
